What a coincidence. I've been researching a mini trip to Door County for the past three hours. I was there last year with my teenage son in tow. I want to return with my husband in June. I'm looking into activities that are a touch more "manly" than boutique shopping and winery tours. Teenage son was a trooper and appreciated it when I gave in and went ziplining with him.
Among the activities are lighthouse, cherry orchard, brewery and winery tours, strolling along either shore, the popular fish boil, Segway & moped rentals, ferry tours, theaters, fishing excursions, etc.
The one thing I wanted to do if I ever returned was to camp in Penisula State Park. There seemed to be endless camping sites all nestled in trees along the shore. Very scenic. Our beast of a 5th wheel will not be making the trip. Instead, we're opting to drag out the giant canvas tent and will make do with a decent air bed and just the necessities.
