My 1500 has a payload of 1436 and a tow rating of 8600 with a GCVW of 14,100-so I know my payload numbers and such were not in my favor. This 2500 has 2250 payload and 11k tow rating with a 18100 combined gross.

Go all the way to a 1 ton truck if you're going to upgrade. You will thank me later; a 3/4 ton offers NO advantage over a 1 ton.
