The words "hybrid" and "hard side" don't go together...."hybrid" specifically means that there are canvas bunkends. There is a rear slide "expandable" and they often get lumped together, but not at all the same.
I like the idea of a toy hauler. Lots of flexibility for now and later you could change as needed. Air mattress is also a great option. Bed at night and out of the way during the day....or not. I think this is very doable, but you're going to be looking in the 16 - 17' range, 18' tops to stay within that 20' max. There are lots of trailers out there that would work, but it's a moot point since you specifically said 20' MAX bumper to ball. I think all you need is a bit of creativity and you'll be good. Let us see what you decide on. Interesting.
