2002 Chevy 2500hd 2WD

I just purchased a 2002 Chevy 2500hd to tow my 30' - 7,000lb trailer. I have two questions which I need help on. First, does anyone know what the stock height of the truck is, from the fenders? Second, If my trucks lifted (it's 41" at both the front and back) would it make sense to lower it back to the stock height? Will it put additional stress on the transmission and engine?
  • 38 1/2". Running 285/75-16. I guess stock tires are 245/75-16 though. Still should be close to 38"
  • Measuring from the ground to the center of the fender. It has 275 X 17 tires. Appreciate you checking.
  • Where are you measuring from? I have a 2001 I can look at in the morning. What size tires also?
