We had the same issue. When we would hit the seat heat button, the light would come on, and then click off after about 5-10 seconds.
The shop where I have major work done found out that the wire that carries the current to the seat had started to chafe, and was shorting to ground. The bad spot was on the drivers side. They repaired the bad spot and it's been working ever since.
