So I have been there and done it.
In July 2010, I started posting mine for $15k with 75k miles. I had some interest, but nobody willing to pay a premium for the vehicle. I continued to drop the price through December 2011. In December, I listed for $12k with 78k miles. (I had new trucks to tow my trailer, and the 10 mpg made this vehicle sit the rest of the time.) I had little interest in the vehicle through June, when my price dropped to $9999. I sold it the next day. It had 80k miles on it.
So, it is likely that you will not get a premium.
As for towing, I absolutely felt that the 6.0, 6spd that I replaced my 8.1 was better towing, and 50% better mileage when not towing. After getting my wife a 2014 CTS4 as a daily driver, I switched to a 6.0, 6spd, 3.42 Express 3500 van. I can tell you that the 3.42 does make a difference in towing (not as good), but I can also get 18-19 mpg not towing on the highway, and 15-16 mpg for normal usage.
So the best thing you can do is price it to make money, and lower the price until it sells. I sold my HD that way, listing at dealer price, and then selling at private party.
