IMO I'd keep what you have. It's close to a sideways move to me. You're losing HP and TQ but gaining the six speed tranny. I also think the MPG savings wil be minimal, you'll be working the smaller engine harder. Both are great combo's though.
Actually, the small block puts out more HP than the big block.
