My buddy and I put a dually rear axle under his old half ton Ford. That did not make it a one ton truck as some would have you believe based on axle ratings. A tow vehicle is the sum of all parts, not just one or two.
Then why'd ya do it?
Explain the magical engineering that makes a typical 3/4 ton 1400-2000lbs less capable than it's largely identical 1 ton brother.
That was a rhetorical question. Not all ratings are due to the capability of something.
Besides, the OP is actually sitting well within all the ratings of his truck, save for possibly being over on a somehow real light gvw.
