Explain the magical engineering that makes a typical 3/4 ton 1400-2000lbs less capable than it's largely identical 1 ton brother.
That was a rhetorical question. Not all ratings are due to the capability of something.
Good point.
Along the same point is Fords F350 SRW trucks that can have a 10000 or 11200 gvwr in the same identical crew cab truck with the 6.7 auto tranny 4x4 172" wheel base same front and rear axle rating. In fact the F350 srw has 12-13 different gvwrs. Ford doesn't build 12-13 different F350 trucks just to fit the gvwrs.
As I mentioned above....
Fleet Ford specs says the " Front and rear GAWRs will, in all cases, sum to a number equal to or greater than the GVWR for the particular vehicle."
Some refuse or ignore this important point.
