- tmartin000Explorer III have had Stable-Lift on two campers. They are everything good about fearless unloading and a breeze for use.
My ONLY complaint is living a block from the ocean and rust. If it could be made out of aluminum, I'd own it again. PERIOD. - jimh406Explorer III

I've done that. Of course, it was in the bed where it was supposed to be. :) - burningmanExplorer IIThat's also what we all thought when we had gas trucks with 350s in them, rotary dial party-line phones, and rabbit ear TV anteannas. Corner jacks "work". Just not as easy, not as secure.
I challenge anyone to sleep in their camper standing on it's jacks in a windstorm! - hedgeExplorerI don't get the point of changing either, never had a problem with standard jacks so not sure I see where any improvement is necessary. I also don't want to drive around with my truck looking like I drove through a kid's playground and the equipment is stuck under the truck.
- GeoBoyExplorerJoe, does your Vacationer have slide-outs?
- burningmanExplorer IIBecause if you do make the effort to install a Stable Lift properly, it's a whole world better and easier than corner jacks. Not only is it way, WAY stronger and more stable than corner jacks, it makes loading and unloading easier than anything else ever. You back under the camper, press the button to retract the lift, and it clamps itself onto the truck. No separate tiedowns.
To oofload, you press the button to lift and drive out.
They are always a labor intensive custom install. You have to pull out appliances and install reinforcements and if you have slide outs I feel you need to do even more beefing up. But after that, you're on easy street and a lot safer.
If you ever used one, you'd understand. - KKELLER14KExplorer IIThat is my point...what is the reason to even have an after market lift? I'm trying to wrap my head around this one...but I personally feel there is bigger issues here....the base of the camper is going to be rock solid....but the corners take the load... there should be no flexing of the opening where the slide is.....at all!!! If there is... the frame is broken...but if you are trying to lift it with something that was not designed for the application and it is tweeking the frame ...why are you using it?
- jimh406Explorer IIIApparently a bad game changer in OPs case. ;)
- burningmanExplorer IIThat's an easy question to answer; the Stable-Lift is a total game-changer!
It's an entirely different method of camper lifting and vastly superior.
Way easier, way faster, way safer. But it's expensive and needs to be installed correctly which usually requires some custom work.
I love mine and woukd never go back to fragile, spindly, wobbly scary corner jacks. - KKELLER14KExplorer IIWhile I'm at it...here is an 1140 dry bath.
Now my question is why not use the original jacks?...and go with this stable lift? Were the jacks bad and this was the replacement?...not quite understanding the thought process here. Why change out the original jacks? Did it have fold out brackets for a dually in the front?
