Engine cooling ability has improved with each newer engine design. Massive holes in front of newest trucks. My 2010 under 300k miles heating up wasn't a problem. Now with mileage over 575k, heating up is an issue pulling in temps above 80 degrees. I'm considering pulling out cooling stack to really clean it out. I saw coolant and trans temps over 240 last summer in outside temp of 105.
