IFproperly maintained, the 5.9 Cummins with under 200K could still have a lot of life left.
BUT it's not only the powertrain that can cost money. I've heard more than one diesel owner say the engine was great but other stuff was breaking regularly. Just realize there will be stuff to fix occasionally on a 10 year old truck.
