I would be watching for cancer if buying local in Wisconsin! Mileage is not a killer if the truck was maintained. 4X2 is one reason the price is lower also.
We bought our 2001 4.5 years ago 4X4 5 speed for a bit more than that with 234,000 miles, we are currently have 279,000 miles and still pulling strong.
I agree. You still need to evaluate the engine/trans but it is all the other little things that will eat you up in costs. And I would not worry about whether it had a fifth wheel hitch installed. That is what these vehicles were made to do. You will severely limit your options if you weed out any 3/4 ton on up truck that may have towed/hauled something in the past.
