@Cummins12V98 - Looks like a 2500 Megacab 2WD has about the same payload as a Quadcab 4WD (~2100 lbs). I'd have to drop down to a Quadcab 2WD to get a boost (2500 lbs), or go up to a 3500 (which has 2600 lbs payload for the Megacab 4WD - worst case scenario)
I need to compare the Mega vs Quad to see how it feels to DW & I - haven't gotten out to do that yet. The few Megas I've seen definitely seem to be more decked out (leather & all power everything), while the Quads have more variety in their creature comfort levels.
I've read people's opinions on 4WD - some require it, some like-to-have, some don't care -- and I'd probably fall into the "like to have". But if I can get a better price, less maintenance, and more creature comforts by sacrificing the 4WD, at this point I'd be willing to do that. Ask me again in a year if I've changed my mind :)
