2006 Forest River Salem LE 26BHSS

We are a family of 3 (2 adults + one 15 month old) and we are planning to try full time RV-ing for a while. There is a 2006 Forest River Salem LE 26BHSS for sale near us and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this year and model. Any red flags we should know about?

Thanks for your help!

  • Yes there is a company and I believe the only company that does RV Inspections. They are RVinspection specialists.
    They are greatI
I have used them and was extremely satisfied.
  • Thanks for the tips. Are there trusted companies out there who we can pay to do an actual inspection?

We plan to follow warm weather - trying to escape MN winters! :)
  • Also to full time in a Salem is going to be tough if you're not in a warm climate. It's not a 4 season trailer. At least mine wasn't.
  • We had an '08 Salem LE 29FLSS. The fit and finish left a lot to be desired but we didn't have any major problems with it. To full time in a trailer that old, make sure you go over that thing with a fine tooth comb twice. Pay special attention to the roof, floor, and anywhere water can get in.
  • Make sure you have the trailer inspected including all the major appliances from roof to wheels and tires.
