I encountered those staples on my rig, and just sort of "sighed"
Since I didn't have a Giant Stapler, used a doweling jig to counter sink 5/16 holes that I ran gold deck screws into. The 5/16th hole wasn't big enough for my "tip holder" so I sacrificed a Philips screw driver, and cut the shaft off to mount in my drill.
