How is the Weblon soft-side held under the metal J trim? Are there strips of compression rubber sandwiching both sides of the Weblon? Have you got a close-up of taking this section apart?

I'm assuming you're asking how the soft wall is attached to the roof?? or to the walls??
I do not know how it is attached to the roof. I'll know next spring when I attempt to rebuild or build a new roof.
At the walls, there is no J-trim(?). The soft wall was originally staple to the hard wall with a flap hanging over the fiberglass hard wall. Along with the rusty staples I pulled to release the material, I could see how water could be driven up under the flap and wick into the wood. I plan on using sealing tape under the cloth when I re-staple with stainless staples.
Here is a picture of the soft wall attached to the original pine board and the approx 1/4" flap overhanging the wall shell.
