Not necessarily, I just got rid of one that was stock except for the Ford updates because it started drinking about a half a gallon of coolant a week. It only had 130k on it. I have always been a die-hard Ford guy, but now not on their diesels.
Didn't say they were great, just improved over the early 6.0s. I too work with a guy who lifted a head on a bone stock 06 last year at well under 100k.
That said, a tuned 6.0 is a sweet sounding truck!
And while Super Duties are a great "wrapper", if I couldn't find a 7.3 or afford a LATE model 6.7 pstroke, I'd be shopping for a Dmax/Alli or a Cummins with a manual trans.
