MY BIL had a 11 6.7 Ferd for about 9 months. After multiple trips to the shop for CEL lights and soot clogging the turbo he dumped the POS after several flash updates and a turbo cleaning it just never was right.
Keep looking there's better trucks.
BTW... If you want a Diesel stick with a Cummins.
Good luck

You should probably qualify that statement with your TT only weighs around 5k pounds wet if you are referencing the one in your sig.
You are correct sir. Probably a skosh more as we travel with full water tanks food beer and gear. - DirtyOilExplorerMY BIL had a 11 6.7 Ferd for about 9 months. :B - pronstarExplorerMy buddy runs the diesel shop at a local Dodge dealership.
The advice he gave to another friend who just bought a used 2008 6.7:
Avoid a 2007.5 and early build 2008s.
"I've heard" that the 6.7L trucks run much better when deleted.
Of course, I would never recommend anyone do this :B - CaptJeff1731ExplorerRead theTDR website they will answer questions

I would not by any used non DEF 6.7 Dodge/Cummins. Reason is low fuel mileage for those vintage trucks(07.5 - 12). My 2001.5 gets over 12 towing! So you buy an early 07 5.9 or older and get a 4 speed auto(I would opt for the 6 speed manual) or you buy one of the new DEF 6.7's!!!!
Chris
The 5.9 would not tow my camper. The first 6.7's did have some issues at first with the diesel exhaust particulate filters, but they have corrected the issue. I owned a 2007 and it is night and day over the 5.9. Keep the exhaust brake on and keep the oil/fuel/air filters clean and you will have zero issues. - RedRocket204Explorer

From a guy that owns one, he told me that in order to not use DEF, the cummins was tuned strange. He "blew a turbo", mechanic told him he wasn't the first.
2nd and 3rd hand here, so take it with a grain of salt.
:h DEF did not even come along for anybody until 2011?
