2009 dodge ram quad cab sxt payload capacity

looked at a 2009 dodge ram 2500 sxt quad cab diesel that was for sale this weekend and need some help deciphering numbers how can I figure this without getting the truck on the scale yet for rough numbers . here are the numbers on the door:

GVWR-9000
front axle 5200
rear axle 6006

only ones I saw online I my search was for a gasser and it said 2700 payload capacity. Also if I call the dealerships service dept. with vin number will they be able to tell me rear end ratio and tow capacity more interested in the payload capacity first.

Thanks

  • If you have a chance to look at the truck again, locate this sticker in a similar door location. Note what it has where this says 2051:

  • I think the rear axle gawr you have listed is incorrect.

    Double check that.
  • If you can check out the truck, take a look at the yellow/black Tire Loading Information label on or near the Driver's door.
Somewhere on there it says "Occupant and cargo capacity should not exceed xxxxlb/xxxxKg."
THAT is the payload of THAT truck.
  • PL will be about 2400# assuming no 4WD, if so equipped then it would be around 2100#.
  • Payload for diesel will be roughly 2400# or less

Go here and fill in info....LINK

Remember that the listed payload number is only accounting for 150# driver.
Weight of additional options, passengers, cargo and hitch must be deducted from this weight.
  • Realistically once loaded with fuel and bodies your CCC is going to be less than 2000 pounds.
  • Look for tire / loading sticker on drivers door pillar. It should show cargo carrying capacity (payload).
