2009 trade for 2006???

See signature for my current truck. 6.0L gas. Love the truck BUT like most always wanted the diesel experience. Local dealership has a 2006 Chevy Silverado 6.6L with Allison trany. 94k miles. My truck has 61K miles. Last week I opened the rear door and when I shut it there was water inside the door. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW IT GOT INSIDE THE DOOR. Inside was dry but water came pouring of it. Mysteries of life I guess. Mine is LTZ vs. 2006 LT.

Price wise...I would say it would cost me $1000 at most. I have not seen the 2006.

Let me have it. Take a look? Keep mine for sure? Make the trade if possible?

Thanks!
  • Dealer won't have it on the lot for very long so don't wait for to many posts telling you they are a really nice trucks :W

The 2006 and 2007 Classic GM Duramax is highly desirable in the market. If you want a diesel, that's a great one to try. But it is the GMT800 generation compared to your GMT900. Are you willing to give up some of the advances as well as equipment of your LTZ?

Are you referring to the transmission?

  • I traded my 2008 in on a 2007 to get the diesel too. Funny thing is, I had water in the rear door. I wouldn't hesitate as long as the 06 is in good condition.
  • 2006 will have the LBZ...no major issues with this vintage IIRC, plus the Allison trans is sweet.

I wouldn't hesitate to go trade back 3 years if it was the right vehicle. Go look at it and see how it stacks up to your truck.
