2012 Ecoboost towing

With the F150 before 2015 model, Max Tow pkg was different from HD pkg.

My 2014 truck has both. Max Tow pkg = $565 option, and HD Payload pkg = $1,695 option.

Beginning with the 2015 model, the HD pkg came with only 6 lugs. 2014 and earlier came with 7 lugs. Also, at least thru 2014, the HD pkg required the 8' box with std cabs and Supercabs. Supercrew cabs required the 6.5' box.

If you have the true MaxTow package, then you have 7 lug wheels and a 6.5' bed. The longer wheelbase with that bed makes it more stable, but a 36' trailer is a big wind catcher. Drive north from Dilly into OK and KS and hit that wind, and you'll wish you had more truck under you.

The 3.5EB has all the power you'll ever need, but it takes more than that to tow safely.

Not necessarily when it comes to 1/2 tons.. I had the same truck as the OP and my trailer is 32' long and 7800lbs loaded. With the trailer attached and the family and gear in the truck I was right at the trucks GVWR. And I was still 3,400lbs under the max tow rating..

To the OP, If that trailers dry weight is 8830lbs then unfortunately you will be well over your trucks GVWR and more than likely over the rear axle rating too.

Seems unlikely, but not enough info provided to assess.

Is that 8830 pounds dry or GVWR or weighed with typically weekend loading? 8800 pounds dry would mean more like 10k loaded with 1300 pounds of tongue weight. I do not believe there is a receiver made to handle that much TW for your truck. Unless you have the 7-lug wheels and HD payload package, I think you'll be over the rear axle rating of 4200-ish pounds even using a WDH.

I like the truck choice, the camper is most likely to big and heavy. The drivetrain will not have an issue so much cause u got the power and a good truck, its payload.... That's the problem with a lot of setups, even my 3/4 ton with 2997lbs of payload is limited on a lot of fifth wheels. But we have a good sized one now and don't any bigger, if anything I would go smaller..

Lot of speculation going on here and you people don't even know what his payload or tongue weight is. Nothing like jumping to conclusions based on NOTHING!
rtf - run the calculator in the link by Tachdriver and you'll be a lot farther ahead to understanding and answering your own question. there are explanations for things in the calculator at the top of the page.

Tow rating is not meaningless at all. However, many 1/2 ton tow ratings are fictional because the payload capacity runs out long before the tow rating is reached.
