@mikejulie have you gone on a long trip yet, if so how did it do pulling the new camper? Btw do y'all have passenger tires or LT tires?
I'm not sure what you consider a long trip but we took it last weekend about 40 miles, 35 of those were on the highway. The expedition pulled it fine. I drove comfortably at 55-60 down the highway. I definitely felt it when cars passed up from the wind kicking up but between the expedition and the Blue Ox Sway Pro WDH that we have, it held steady and straight without issues. Some of the drive was did have some small hills on it and it never dropped below 4th gear. We have passenger tires and I increase the PSI from 35 to 44 to stiffen them up a little.
I've actually just ordered a K&N cold air intake and one of those OBD2 Scantool's so that I can monitor the transmission temperature. The K&N filter is supposed to add 12 - 14 HP for the Expedition and about 12 lbs of torgue. Its not huge but the reviews I read from other expedition/F-150 owners is that it was noticeable improvement with towing, especially uphill. If I find the transmission temp will be a concern, even with the HD Aux cooler it has then I plan to add a 2nd cooler for security.
