2013-14 Ram Recalls

FYI for the ones that don't know or received their recalls on some 2013-14 Rams. My 2014 Ram 3500 to date has had six recalls in 18 months of ownership. Most of them pretty serious safety issues. Previously I had only two done .

One of the recalls R40 was a U-Connect up grade ,apparently our trucks operating system could be hacked into. I received in the mail the recall, and included was a USB drive to do the upgrade yourself, which I did yesterday. The other way is take the USB drive to a dealership ,and they will do it.

Today I had two of the remaining three done. I am caught up as far as I can go . The latest R46 they do not have a fix for it yet, that one is potentially the greatest safety risk. Apparently some faulty welds on the track bar, it sounds like these welds were done by hand, they have since changed their procedure to a robotic weld . Apparently poor penetration on the welds. From what I been told either the fix or the recalls will be issued on Oct 9
  • I would request what qualifies a tech to weld on my truck frame... I hate to say it, but I would just take the financial hit and unload the truck. It's not worth the risk.

    Good luck...

The recall notice received yesterday was only for some chafing wire that would deploy the airbag .

    No big deal, right ?

I guess no big deal, unless it deploys in your face . No big deal as far as the recall . That was one of the two I had done today, they only had the truck for 2 hours. I'm just hoping after this track bar issue things will settle down with these Rams
