As iawoody2 mentioned, that tow rating is for the gasser. It is over 16,000 for the supercab and only slightly less for the crewcab.
Love my 2012 F350 6.7 CC long bed FX4. Gets nearly 20 open highway 70-75 not towing (can squeeze over 20 if I can keep my foot out of it). 10+ towing 35' 5er at 65-70. Again does better at slower speeds. But I have hard time doing that. Tows the 5er great even in Colorado mountains.
Yeah, basic maintenance is a little higher, but not that significant in my opinion.
Local Ford dealers were advertising up to $16,000 off sticker on 2013s not long ago. Don't know what they are doing now. Got $14,000 off sticker on my 2012 August last year.
