Most of those links come from two sites, one ford forum and the videos from the same guy. If you go to any forum dedicated to a single subject, whether vehicle or anything else, you will naturally find posts about problems experienced and someone seeking help or sympathy. Same if you go to a specific RV brand web site. So don't put too much into those as there has been no widespread postings about problems with the new Ford diesel.
Except for a few who post here, there is rarely anything posted here about a problem with the new Ford engines. And the vast majority who have them have nothing but praise for the 6.7.
And therein IS the problem. The very few members who post here on this forum.
And of these very few, there are two who have had their HPFP's self destruct. One we all know about, Ricatic.
Second was much quieter about his troubles. Luckily he had just had the fuel filters changed at Ford dealership, because Ford tried to hose him on warranty as they did Ricatic. But, after seeing the service records for his truck, Ford did warranty the fuel pump failure.
So take our small sampling for what its worth. But having two failures in such a small sampling size is mind boggling, especially considering not all of these forum members even drive a Ford.
And to the OP here. Again I say go for the 2015 and newer Ford. The pump on the previous years is just such a hit and miss. Great for those that have not yet had problems. Terrible for those few that do.
And know that when the pump goes bad, there is no warning, no symptoms. The CEL (check engine light) comes on your dash and your vehicle quits running.
Let us just hope that at that moment you were not trying to merge onto an interstate with an 80,000 pound 18 wheeler charging towards your tailgate.
