2000 rpm is quite reasonable for 4.30's at 65 mph....but with 6 speeds forward in a modern automatic transmission...and of those 6 speeds.... 6th and sometimes 5th....are generally more of overdrive ratios...which leads to relatively low rpm in these top gears at highway speeds.
At one time ...a 4.30 final drive ratio with a 3 speed (typical automatic 25 years ago) or 4 speed standard.... 4.30's would be drag strip gears and would be cause for high rpm at highway speeds.
