It pulls like a gasser! Nuff said!
Total B. Stuff.
You obviously do not OWN a "gasser" let alone a 6.2 "gasser".
Instead of posting drivel about something you don't know beans about perhaps you should move along to the oil burners forum?
Let ME TELL YOU that so far I am SUPER impressed with my 2013 F250 with the 6.2 "gasser".
As far as I am concerned it will not have much problems keeping up with most oil burners given the same load.
As far as mileage well the new oil burners are simply not getting much better mileage than the "gassers" whether towing or empty. The new smog regs have really made the oil burners lose any real "value" (IE better mileage) and fuel is much more expensive.
For the OP, I have F250 2wd super cab short bed with 3.73 axle. I have about 3K miles on it and empty is getting about 15.
I have not towed any long distance as of yet but for a short 30 mile trip with my 5K empty TT only dropped the instant mileage a about .2 MPG.
But let me tell you this engine rocks! Had no problem pulling a 10% grade hill which has a stop light at the bottom ( Yeah PADots "finest" engineers) topping the hill at a easy 55 and was in 6th gear to boot!
I am expecting it to run about the same as my older F250s which have the 5.4 which would be 9.5-10.5.
It IS a truck and hauling a RV is like pushing cement blocks down the road without any tires under them.
RPM in my case for 65 MPH is about 1900, I wouldn't expect the 4.3 axle to be much more than 2200 at that speed.
I would expect in your case a bit lower mileage empty but not all that much (seems to me some reports were 14 ish).
I am looking forward to towing this summer with this beast! :B
I think you misunderstood Allworth's comment; when he says "tows like a gasser" he means it tows as well as a diesel in 95% of situations, does so on fuel that is much easier to find and costs 60 cents less per gallon, is quieter, has a much lower initial purchase price, and requires appreciably less maintenance.
Pretty sure that's what our broad-minded friend meant by that :W
