- bighatnohorseExplorer IIYou can check your tire air pressure - make sure that the tires are not running soft.
- dodge_guyExplorer IIMy boss`s 2012 averages 14 on his 35 mile round trip which is mostly 45-50 mph. I`ve heard from many with the newer Ford diesels that the mileage stinks. that`s only slightly better than my 10 year older V-10 with 4.30`s that would get 12 on a similar commute!
- N-TroubleExplorerSo what is the average regen interval like on the PStoke? I live in a DMAX world. And yeah I get all the things that can affect regen frequency.
FWIW my numbers. All stock on 305 ATs
City 12-13
Hwy(65-70mph) - 18
Towing 12k 5er TH (63-67mph) - 8.5-9
On the very low end of numbers I read/hear. - GoPackGoExplorerSomething seems wrong.
Lots of questions -
Have you owned this truck since new ? What did it get originally ?
If not, is this town mileage or highway ? Or a mix ?
How does it run ? No stumbles ? Good acceleration ?
I have 2013 4x4 dually CC long bed and I can get 20 or better on the highway. I get 11-12 towing 14,000 pounds.
Drive the truck for a half hour and then put your hand along the sides of the exhaust pipe tips. Don't touch it !!!! If it seems REALLY hot then it's stuck in regen mode. - cmeadeExplorer

x2 my 2010 Ram 3500 4x4 CTD SRW gets 20-21 mpg on the open road at 65mph. When in TX at 80 mph speed limit it was 16 mpg empty. Both figures with cruise control (no pilot error involved).
To improve your mileage, slow down. I can get 16 to 17 going 60 mph empty. I get between 10 and 11 towing a 14,000 pound 5th wheel at the same speed. - Slick_RickExplorerLike someone said, you might be stuck in regen mode. That's what I get in regen but after 18 miles or so it's getting 17-20 mpg. I've got 16k miles on my 2015 and I'm averaging 15.5 mpg since day 1, per the LOM. It's been a little better lately, almost 20 on the highway, unloaded. I got a scangaugeII to monitor RGN, EG2, EG4 and GPL to checkout my regens. Plug and play and it might tell you what's going on with your truck. Or back to the dealer I'd go.
Good luck

- cmeadeExplorerPlease don't shoot the messenger. If a diesel is driven like a gasser the mileage will stink empty or loaded! The long pedal is a fuel dispenser. If it will go up the hill at 50 mph at 1/4 throttle it will burn a set amount of fuel. If you go up that same hill at 50 mph at full throttle then you burn a lot more fuel. With gassers the throttle plate let's more air in then mixes the fuel based on air volume. With diesels it uses the pedal position to ration the fuel. At no throttle it burns a set amount of diesel whether you are stopped or coming down the hill at 100 mph with your 18K lb trailer hooked up. Also no load no heat so if it gets hot pull over and take load off so it can cool down. Let it idle so the waterpump can circulate the coolant through that heavy engine and turbocharger. Now you are worthy to sit at the big rig table with the big boys!!

Good day.
We own a 2013 Ford F250, 6.7 Diesel, and I am looking for suggestions on what I can do to improve our mileage. In general driving we are getting 11.8 MPG. I haven't pulled my rig with this truck yet so I am unsure what to expect once we do.
Your suggestions and experience would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Tim Lerchbacker
Not knowing exactly what you mean by general driving and the environment you drive in. Also I'm assuming you don't have a lift with large tires. But it sounds like your truck maybe stuck in regen mode. I would take it to a Ford dealer and have them confirm the truck is not in regen mode.
Today I drove to our deer camp and back and made 20 mpg on my 6.7 PSD.- lightfootExplorer IIII have a 2012 F250 6.7. Mixed driving is about 15. Highway at 65 is anywhere from 19 to 22. Towing 5er (14K+) is 10 - 12. I would run that thing back to the dealer ASAP.
