too bad. I've always liked the KYB's ever since I had them on my 70's 4WD's. You might try to add one extra set of shocks only to the rear axle. This is what we did back in the day on off-road heavyweights. The weight on the front axle does not change much so less need for double front shocks.
There are kits available for welding on shock mounts, top and bottom that will accept, I'm thinking, Rancho 9K's with all that adjusting. I was thinking of doing this on Cabeza de Vaca for more control when off-road. I could have used them this past week in Death Valley on some of the roughest trails I've ever trod. T.R. to follow.
