There was a problem with some trucks having a brake slight switch that wasn't adjusted right and it would cause the lights to come on when the driver hit some kind of bump. It was bad enough to keep knocking the CC off on the interstate.
Keep in mind the brake light switch can can only be adjusted once during installation. If done wrong it has to be replaced again.
BTW, you can put your toe under the brake pedal and hold it up to check and see if this is the problem.

This was the fix for our new 05. the fix was as was just said above. I think it finally worked that problem out but I almost never use cruise. I will test it on the trip south the 1st. hope yours is the same fix
