2013 RAM Cruise Control Problems

I have a 2013 RAM 2500 Laramie Longhorn Limited Edition with the Cummins engine and I now have almost 27,000 miles on it. The dealer replaced the switch on the steering wheel when I complained of the cruise control only working interminably. I took it in another time with the same complaint and they informed me that it worked on their test drive, no problems. It has now completely stopped working, so I have no cruise control in an almost new $60k truck. Is anyone else having problems? JH

  • Thanks, I will check the brake lights on my next run. Right now I can even get the Cruise Control to come on at all. JH
  • Make sure your brake lights aren't on.
There was a problem with some trucks having a brake slight switch that wasn't adjusted right and it would cause the lights to come on when the driver hit some kind of bump. It was bad enough to keep knocking the CC off on the interstate.
Keep in mind the brake light switch can can only be adjusted once during installation. If done wrong it has to be replaced again.
BTW, you can put your toe under the brake pedal and hold it up to check and see if this is the problem.
