It wasn't too long ago that a retired couple in their Super Duty 7.3 psd challenged me and I dusted him too. :B
I will say two things. 1st of all the 7.3 is still running a decade later. 2 thumbs up!
2nd off I think I still have a 68 VW Bug that would dust it also :B They were upgraded that year to something like 40 HP....
I'm to old for drag racing nowadays, especially on public roads. But maintaining speed pulling up the Grapevine at 24k lbs is sweet. Even better to go the posted speed limit (35 MPH) down the back side without touching the service brakes. That there is priceless.
Even with my wrong 3:42 gears I run 55 or more from Mexico to the Canadian border on I-5 with 28,240# combined weight. My truck scales at 13,940#, maybe I should get a 13 so I can be within factory specs?
Don't get all smart aleckly on us in here:B
I'm with Rick, I stopped the drag racing some years back...didn't see any future in it with speeding tickets costing a mint along with car insurance premiums not being cheap either, and heaven forbid if there were an accident while one was racing someone from two lane to a single lane or from light to light.
I'm happy with hitting the bottom of the mountain on I 64 from Sandstone Falls to Beckley WV, I 26 from TN into NC, I26 Saluda grade, Black Mountain, I 40, and all the secondary roads I travel, to be at speed of 55-62 (or lower depending on speed limit), and maintain speed and/or pick up speed easily by the time you "get to the top" of those mountains. Many more in around the areas of WV, TN, NC, SC and VA that I tow in, (all mountains), and seeing as how I'm not racing anyone or towing at speeds faster than 65 mph, that's fast enough and will get us where we want to go in plenty of time, seems to be safer and I can get better mpg when towing between 55-62 mph.....and NEVER held traffic up anywhere.
.............course there was the Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 some years back....but I digress:B
