Air in the tires, just putting on bigger brake rotors can get you a 800 lb increase :W
I actually wouldn't know the difference since I don't make a habit of crawling under they when their not mine. Maybe a 2010-2012 owner could tell. Sure looks different than my 06. My top overload looks bigger. You really have to put a load on it for it to come into play. - NC_HaulerExplorer

Well I'm not sure about the spacer being bigger or not since I can't see one in person :M
But it sure looks like the MY 2014 won't have em :B
I'll see if I can take a picture...for some reason, and maybe I'm completely off base, just seemed like the spring pack on the 13 was "more robust", (for want of a better phrase), than the 10 or the 12'...but, again, they may be identical...I know GVWR went from 12200# on my 10 to 12,300# on the 12 to 14,000# on the 13'...hey, maybe it's the air in the tires:h - NC_HaulerExplorerStinking double post....'sup wit dat:)

Actually, the rear end is setting a little lower than it did on the 10 and the 12, but believe it's because the front end is beefier....don't know if that makes sense, but looking at the stance on the 10 and the 12, the rear end definitely was higher "looking" than on the 2013' and by Rick's measurements, as well as the gentleman who gave us the height on the 12', it appears the 13, from road to top of the tailgate is 3/4" or so lower than the 12'..
Well, if anyone can find something wrong with these new Ram's, or run them down, I know we can count on good ole FishOnOne to go above and beyond to please..............himself:)
NC,
If I ever state anything incorrect about your beloved '13 RAM feel free to correct me and I'll stand corrected.
But it's your boys at the Cumminsforum.com that's finding the problems with the '13 and crying about it. Someone needs to drive the ship over there before things get out of control! :R
"Beloved 13' Ram"???.. Don't know about you and your vehicles, but I don't fall in or out of love with inanimate objects, no matter how badly you might want to think that or try to play it. Oh, and "MY BOY'S...you really have it wrong, I have two "boy's" one is a Police Detective and the other one is a Motel manager, those are "my boy's....I don't recollect correcting you on anything except wondering if it was actually a 13' that you raced trying to keep them from beating you from a two lane road to a single lane road...Wasn't me being that...brave.... Other than that, that's it...I own the truck that placed 3rd. in everything for quite some time....what are you trying to justify...Dodge came in 3rd. in 2010, and I bought a Dodge, it placed 3rd. in 2012...I bought a Dodge, it should be obvious I'm not hung up on numbers or brand loyality and I've owned and driven Chevy's since 66'. Sounds like "sour grapes" from someone that has no reason to defend anything...I know there has never been an issue with Ford trucks and never an issue with the D/A combo's....yeah, but I still owned the Chevy's and still think the world of them.
So, if I defend the truck I own, I hope you'll forgive me, seeing as how I own the 3rd place truck out of the Big 3..forgive me for standing up for the lowly Ram while your riding with either #1 or #2, whichever...I see by ALL of your post, you continually put Ram and it's owners down...even when it's about Ram trucks, you go out of your way to get a rise...Evidently, it's what you live for....good for you, I'm glad to see that you're helping boost your ego by cutting on others....I understand...Don't know why you work so hard to make # 3 look or sound so bad, it is being done on the Cummins forum by some Ram owners. Just like I see on the diesel place on Chevy's by Chevy owners....don't know about Ford, never owned one...though I've actually tried on occasions...unlike you, I won't go to another thread on Chevy and/or Ford and go out of my way to "endear" myself to their ownership....sometimes things tend to come back and haunt those that go out of their way to instigate others on what they own...
"beloved"???? REALLY???? My wife, children, grandchildren, my departed parents...now those are "MY BELOVED"", evidently you just don't get it.....
they're crying on the Cummins forum..you really play these out don't you....hey, I own one and I'm not crying, even found a 5er hitch I can live with and it'll fit...but if it boost your ego and makes you feel all "warm and fuzzy" inside to instigate, have at it, most of us understand you by now.. Hey Jim that is a compliment! I usually am referred to as much worse than that.
My point is it is amazing what my truck does for me and the 13's will perform so much better.
I just don't think I could go without the fancy stitching on the leather! Maybe I could trade seats.
You know, I liked the fancy stitching also, but they aren't doing it to the 13's that I'm aware of. I do know there is a step up in leather upholstery between a laramie and the Longhorn. This Longhorn has all the other fancy "stuff" on the seats and the console, just not the stitching. Also, instead of plastic accents on the doors and dash, it's accented with real wood, .pretty cool, including top part of steering wheel.
No excuse now not to buy one. Here is one with the fancy stitching. 2013 Ram Longhorn
I'm looking at the rear springs and they don't look any different from the previous model. Maybe there's a taller spacer that raises the rear a bit higher.- Cummins12V98Explorer III

Jim don't try to fool us about the stitching not being available. We all know that was just a way for you to start thinking about a 14 with the fancy stitching.
We all need a good excuse to get something new!
Man, I'm done....:B..Didn't you think the the stitching in the picture on the upper part of the seat was a bit more fancy than was on the 11 or 12'...I didn't think there was that much on the 12, but didn't have it long enough to notice:W
I just went out and looked, mine looks the same as the 13.
Thanks for looking...guess mine was the same..I know it looked really good as far as I was concerned....wonder how come it didn't come on my 13' Longhorn?
I am wondering the same thing. Did you sit down with the sales guy and check all the boxes you wanted?
Maybe that is why you got such a good deal?????
At this point the two things I am not sure about is the top part of the steering wheel not being leather and how well it will hold up and the shark fin antenna between the clearance lights.
I did ask Stewart Miller a Chrysler regional training manager about the shark fin at a Q&A session at Pahrump and he said it would be at the rear on the dually's with the clearance lights. Guess he missed that one. Never liked the look of it on the GM's.
