2013+ Ram Highway Vibration?

Hi all,

First up, I'm a Cummins guy. It's my favorite of the big three diesels but I also really resect the Dmax/Ally and the new Super Dutys. Since pairing it w/ the Aisin, I'm only really looking at Rams. My 2016 was practically factory fresh when it was wrecked by a truck that forgot to use its parking brake. Had only towed city with it and it did great.

I was all set on ordering a new 2018 3500 Cummins/Aisin but it seems a lot of owners on other sites are reporting severe vibrations when the truck goes 65-75mph on concrete freeways.

There's no point test driving as apparently it varies truck to truck. so I'd need to order, wait three months and then test drive that one which I'm sure would get ugly with the dealer if I refuse delivery.

Basically, do any of you with 2013+ 3500s or even 2014+ 2500s have vibration issues on your Ram? Trying to see how common this purported issue is.

My '13 1500 had no issue at 80 or even faster. My '17 2500 starts shaking at 70 and is down right unsettling at 80.

Had two different dealers check it out, they of course find nothing wrong. I don't really care since it's just a lease and rarely driven without the trailer behind it, then I'm only doing 55 or so.

VERY interesting feedback. Thank you for sharing. So this again points to the fact it's down to individual trucks not across the board. Very odd. Perhaps bent/defective parts from the factory...

yes/no, every truck I've owned had some type of vibration on the rough roads here in Louisiana. Are you talking about the harmonic oscillation and frame flex that happens with the expansion joints and uneven concrete roads?

That being said my signature truck has the best ride of them all.

Yes, correct, the harmonic oscillation / frame flex is what I'm talking about. A regular stiff or "rough" ride does not bother me, I actually prefer it to squishy. I'm just scared of the former as it is not a bearable situation if the truck is afflicted.
