Often, we have to consider the source.
JIMNLIN's link is the official Ram bodybuilder guide.
It's very specific that the frames are the same, and it's from the manufacturer of the vehicles.
45Ricochet, the links you posted are third-party and are vague.
The Allpar article linked in the CumminsForum thread is also vague, but it does state:
For 2013, Ram Heavy Duty trucks are using new frames, built with high-strength 50 KSI steel, to increase stiffness, improving noise reduction, ride, and handling.
The Ram 2500 and 3500 are "Ram Heavy Duty" trucks, and notice no mention of frame differences.
You know I really don't give a rat's behind, what you think. It's very obvious you or Jim ( who I respect even when he is wrong, which is rarely) have never looked from a creeper under both 2013 Ram trucks. There is a distinctive difference between the two 2013 models.
Why else would the base weight change by roughly 300 lbs?
Here is another link and quote. Or better yet visit a Ram forum for real information on guys that own em. OBTW Jim that link still don't work with Google Chrome Browser :B And I sure ain't opening IE to view it :W
Dieselpowermag.comAlso improving roll stiffness and handling under load on the 3500 is an all-new three-link radius arm-style front suspension. The three-link uses advanced geometry to better control heavy loads and resist sway. In the back, the 3500 benefits from a new Hotchkiss-style leaf spring suspension, which also does a better job of managing loads, while improving ride and handling. Ram 2500 frames are mostly carryover, including the current five-link suspension, but benefit from high-strength steel in key places.Visit a Dodge dealer and see for yourself.
