We downsized to a Shadow Cruiser 225 RBS. No problems outside of minor, nearly anticipated new trailer issues. The axles are 3500 lbs. rated. we load heavy on the front due to the little tongue weight. Yes, the lightweights are built "different".

You know, time and time again I read on here of people have issues with the Shadow Cruisers. I really am sorry for the small amount of individuals who are having these issues.
There are a plethora of us who have purchased the Cruiser RV line and have no issues outside of the normal wear and tear that happens to all moving houses going down the road.
I personally had the same issue with the axles and Cruiser worked with my dealership with no battles and replaced my 3500lb axles with 5500lb axles, so I can understand the frustration. I knew when I purchased the Cruiser RV line is more of an entry level TT. I could never compare a Shadow Cruiser to a Sprinter or an Outback, which are far better made but cost a great deal more. I really hope the individuals out there having problems with thier TTs have them resolved.

We purchased a 2012 Shadow Cruiser 280 QBS. We loved, loved, loved the floor plan and still do, but we have had our issues. Within the year warranty, our water pump stopped working, the drawers don't stay closed, and we had the axle and tire issue. We also had the issue of that the breakers would pop on a regular basis. We purchased a voltage meter and were conscious of what we were asking the electrical system to do. Three months outside the warranty period, we find the electrical breaker box was fried. Burned wires throughout. The dealer had their electrician take a look. He found the neutral wire was lose and was convinced that it came that way from the factory. Cruiser would not do anything. Fortunately, we purchased an extended warranty. The issue has been repaired but we haven't taken the trailer out since the repair. We inquired about which brand of trailer did our dealer have that they don't see come back for repairs and which manufacturer stands behind their product. The told us Keystone. We upgraded from a popup. We were excited to have a hard side trailer, but have been disappointed at the constant issues.
If you can find a floor plan that is similar with another manufacturer, go with the other manufacturer.

Wyzguy- we are under warranty still and just got word that Cruiser is refusing to replace our axels. We have only been 700 miles and our tires are very worn. cruiser knows this is a problem and refuses to help.

Have the dealership work with Cruiser, they will be more prone to assist being the dealership will pull thier line from the inventory if service becomes an issue. IF the dealership is not willing to help, then I am sorry you have a bad dealership. If you continue to speak with Cruiser yourself, ask to speak with regional managers or higher. Dont take the word of the first person you speak to on the phone. Send pictures. If all else fails, contact the local paper and have them call Cruiser for an "interview" I bet you would get your axles :-) GOOD LUCK

I feel so badly for all of you that are having Shadow Cruiser problems, and hope you can find some assistance. I guess we lucked out.....we purchased a 2011 Shadow Cruiser 195WBS last spring and have traveled over 3000 miles so far without any problems. We love it.

We have a 2012 280 QBS. I love this camper. There really is nothing else on the market with the same size, weight, and price. Everything else was either too heavy, too small, or cost a minimum of 10K more.

We have had the exact opposite experience with the manufacturer. They have been so amazing that we decided we'd keep on purchasing their products due to good customer service.

We did have the axle issues which I agree, should NOT happen with a new camper (but hey, even the car companies have faulty/cheep equipment they try to let slide). They replaced those without batting an eye and we got new tires out of the deal too.
We also had a misunderstanding about our hot water heater. We thought is was electric/gas, and turned out only to be electric. We complained to our dealer and they notified the manufacturer. Cruiser RV installed a new hot water heater and paid for the labor as well.

It was actually the dealer that was giving us more trouble than the manufacturer.
Have you tried calling the manufacturer directly yourself or are you hearing through the dealer that the manufacturer won't cooperate? It's so odd that they are being so difficult that it makes me wonder if the dealer has something to do with it. I know that Cruise said they would pay for our hot water heater, but our dealer didn't want to pay for labor so they argued a bit and eventually it was resolved. But if your dealer didn't want to work with you they might spin it around that Cruise is being difficult. Just a thought, but I would call the manufacturer yourself and complain about poor service and see if they come through.

The list of people having had problems with Shadow Cruisers is growing. I'm sorry about your troubles, you are not alone. I sent mine back and got a refund on my 280QBS.

Clonefan, they was a wise decision, you can't polish a turd. Same type of issue with Forest River product, Flagstaff, It was a lightweight things just don't stay together.
