My 2004 Alite I sold a couple of years ago since I didn't go that often myself. Now wish I would have kept it.

There has been some noise at the Aliner factory about resurrecting the Alite, but right now they are working at full capacity and its very difficult to get skilled and dedicated workers.

I presently have a 2004 "Classic" that states 995 lbs on the spec tag. The "Classic" is a great travel trailer but the Alite weighed less than half as much.

I have a 2013 Aliner Scout and love it. I spent July 4, 2014 in Falmouth, Mass. during a Tropical Storm that came through (probably 50-60 mph gusts and had NO problems.

I'm considering moving on to the Expedition with dormers. I've heard only a few reports about the dormers leaking (usually second-and) but I don't know if it's related to them being opened or closed. Would like to get some more info on the circumstances under which they leak.

The CR-V has a tent, but, yeah...there's that wet canvas aspect. And I'd feel safer in a hard-sided camper anyway. (A recent revelation.)

It would be great to have a camper I can take out on my own when I want and have time.
I really miss my TC in that regard.

The only thing you could tow with your CR-V is an Aliner Alite, which isn't made anymore. Used ones are highly sought after and hard to find. Some of them weigh less than 1000 lbs. They're basically a bed on wheels - very tiny.

The Aliner dormers have had leaking issues reported, which is why we avoided them when we got our Aliner Ranger 15. After all, we got an Aliner to avoid canvas in the first place!

It had one of my questions on the first page I looked at.

TV would be the 2002 Explorer (V8 w/tow pkg) we used to tow the ViewFinder, so we should be okay as far as weight. We sold our WDH with the VF (not my idea) and was hoping not need another one.

Now you got me thinking...I wonder if there's something I could tow with our CR-V.

Depends on your rig, unless it's really at its tow capacity, I wouldn't worry about it. Actually, I've never seen one on a hardside popup, they just don't weigh enough. BTW, the popuportal.com is good for your type of Qs.

Silly question probably, but is there really a need for a weight distribution hitch for a A-frame fold up?

Thanks for the link. You're right, haven't heard of nor seen a Chalet. Will watch to see if any pop up (bad pun totally intentional) on CL or RVT.

And from what I'm reading, the Chalet is better built. They're made in Oregon, so probably rare out your way.
