2014 A-liner

Going this afternoon to look at a 2014 A-liner (Sport, I think?). Any tips for what to look for, where it might leak and such? Pricing advice?

Thanks in advance.

  • Good info, 2lazy4u. Thanks. I'll try to look into that more. I was finding almost nothing about build issues. People seem to love their aLiners.

Any ideas what year(s) they were talking with the issues? Maybe I need to go newer? Non-dormer type?

This is gonna be just a "weekender" so I'm hoping not to spend a ton of money either on the camper nor on repairs we can't do ourselves.

Hondavalks' right....better to have a high wind kit.
  • After I posted, I did some research, and it seems like the newer Aliners have a lot of build and quality problems. In fact, there was a 2012 listed here in the Rockies for 12k on CL. I called the owner and he'd just lowered the price to 7k because the dormer was leaking and couldn't be fixed, at least not by him. So maybe you dodged a bullet.
  • Unfortunately, it wasn't "the one". When we got there, the owner said he'd already received a full-price cash offer.....but he'd be willing to sell it to me for more. (If he had a full price offer, why was it still sitting there? I didn't ask.)

At least I got to pet some very friendly cows. :)

Thanks for the replies and the link. I've already been to the ALiner site many, many times.

    We'll keep looking.
  • I love ALiners. See if it has the high winds package, you'll want one if not. I think they're easy to install. Make sure the AC works, they have a bad rep. Make sure the axle is straight (the doors should close straight and true). But I really wouldn't worry too much about one that new. They're really nice trailers. Had a 2008 Expedition.
