- JamesBrExplorerGasoline in diesel is not good as the pumps, injectors and other components are not built for it. But unlike DEF in the fuel tank I would expect nothing more then having to drain and flush and some premature wear on the parts. Unlike DEF that crystalizes in the fuel system and causes major problems no matter what brand of truck you own.
- ScottGNomadJust because it didn't die right away doesn't mean he wont have a latent failure.
- DirtyOilExplorerYa got me... guess you have a lot more courage then me

I bet this guy would disagree with it causing no problems
"Would have no effect on the engine/fuel system, as DEF is injected downstream of the "vital" engine/fuel system, (injected into the exhaust stream).
Had to laugh at some of the "doom and gloom" or the "end of the world" posts. Almost as bad as another forum... which will remain nameless. Had a paramedic do that to one of our MTC units poor ole 6.0, F450 ambulance... dropped the tank flushed, changed the fuel filters a couple of times and think we put another 80k on it before selling it." - patperry2766Explorer II.
- LowsuvExplorerA long time camping buddy had the reverse problem .
His wife and her two sisters left PDX for SLC in his ford 460 motorhome .
They were going to a wedding in SLC of another long time GF .
They refueled on interstate 84 and the attendant put diesel in the tank .
The gals made it a few miles before it stopped running altogether .
It's been 15+ years but I think they flushed the tank and lines and got her going within a day or two . - DirtyOilExplorer
I think he meant if he had put in DEF instead of gasoline.
Yup, re-read about 3 more times... my bad! - fj12ryderExplorer IIII think he meant if he had put in DEF instead of gasoline.

Bet he wouldn't have fared as well if it had been DEF
