2014 F350 Release Date

Any idea when they will start shipping the 2014? I understand that they are only going to shut down the plants for one week this year instead of the normal two weeks.
  • This is a link to the Ford Media website.

Yes you are right, only a 1 week shutdown to change over the products this year in most plants. The link states what plants will be shut 1 week VS the normal 2 weeks.

Production of Fords will increase by an additional 200,000 vehicles this year compared to last year, when a additional 400,000 capacity was added.

Check with a local Ford dealer for the most up to date information. Hopefully they will keep on top of everything. You should be able to order a new 2014 now.

    Quote from the link above:

The Kansas City-built F-150 is the first choice for tradespeople who need the most durable, advanced in the market truck. For example, F-150 leads in a variety of fields, including:

62 percent market share in road and highway maintenance
68 percent share in hazardous materials work
67 percent share in the oil pipeline industry

F-150 also boasts leading safety ratings. F-150’s fully boxed frame, made from high-strength hydroformed steel, provides a backbone built for increased durability and safety. F-150 has earned top safety ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Overall, F-150 offers customers the broadest lineup in the segment, with 10 models that include work-ready XL, sporty and capable FX, well-balanced XLT, refined and luxurious Limited and the no-compromise off-road SVT Raptor.

    Fred.
  • Thanks I had found this information on the F150, but I couldn't find anything on the F350 from the Ford Kentucky plant. We were able to order a 2014 F350 on June 10th when dealers were unable to find us a 2013 that would meet our needs. My dealer has told me it will be October, but I was hoping I might be able to find more info on line or someone on the forum that might know about the 350.
  • Good thing Rick stopped a few of those sales.

The factory wouldn't be able to afford even a week's downtime otherwise. :-)

  • Traveler II - Just FYI. I ordered my 2013 F350 earlier this spring and took delivery only about a month later. Don't know when they change over to building the 2014s but it sure seems like you would take delivery before October. I'd bet on the end of August.
  • Is 2014 a new model year or another freshen up? I've never been a huge fan of the super duty's look. Hoping they make it more appealing til I'm ready for a new one. The next one will likely be my retirement truck. I have to keep the current one another 6 yrs till the wife's Explorer is paid off. Hope the 150 holds up til then.

The reading comprehension on this forum is amazing at times. Here is the Mustang plant down times..... LINK...... not.

At any rate enjoy your new truck, I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

2015 is supposed to be the redsign year.
14 is just minor changes as usual from what I've heard.
