I cross-shopped the superduty and ram for diesels, but I'm assuming many of the pros/cons will carry over minus the diesel-specific stuff:
Superduty Pros:
Transmission top gear lockout
Can manually shift the transmission
well proven chassis
6.2L gas motor seems to be a good workhorse. very simple architecture and design really
spacious cab setup
man-step (I loved this on my F-150)
6R140 transmission is very well proven
chassis is approximately the same as it has been for nearly 10 years (lots of aftermarket)
nice information center
Sync is a very nice hands-free system compared to the others on the market.
Still have the option of manual locking hubs in certain trims
Tow Mirrors are awesome
4.30 rear gear available for gasser.
Superduty Cons:
chassis will flex (not always a priority with people but it is for me)
chassis is approximately the same as it has been for nearly 10 years (not much change)
easier to break-into because they use the same locking mechanism as they have for years
same ol' rear suspension setup
information center was a little cumbersome for me to navigate
Ram Pros:
Transmission top gear lockout
All new fully-boxed chassis, very rigid like the F-150 vs. Tundra
Front suspension is nearly identical to Ford Superduty (a compliment in my book)
Fully air-sprung rear end (2500)
single leaf with supplemental air suspension (3500)
fully re-designed interior in 2013
tailgate locks with remote lock
very intuitive information center, easier to navigate than ford in regards to me
Ram Cons:
cannot manually shift the transmission (you can only lockout the top gears)
Uconnect is not as nice as Sync
no manual locking hubs on 4x4's that I'm aware of
I think you're locked into the 3.73 rear ratio on the gassers in SRW format, I think Ford gives you the ability to go 4.30 on the rear gears
RAM Tow Mirrors... I prefer Ford on this front
Both Cons:
full-on cowboy giddy-up interiors on the luxo models
pretty damn gaudy on the chrome on either
Well, this is part of my list, I no longer remember where I put my original list of things I compared between these two.
