My trailer as it sits now is heavier than your GVWR, and I have a noisy Equalizer, and the 2010 version of the trucks you are asking about. The new trucks are slightly more powerful so you should have to trouble with that trailer and a Sierra (or Silverado if you must go Chevy) so long as the rear end is above 3.08.
