Hey all,After doing a "Build and Price" on the 2014 1500 Max Tow pkg with the 6.2 engine, can't seem to locate any near me (southern NY State). Has anyone actually been able to get their hands on one? Is this truck a special order only? Would love to take a test drive; Are dealers willing to negotiate price on special orders or do you have to pay full list or "No Deal"? Thanks

Have you considered going with a 2500 HD 6.0 gasser?

They are out there, but many dealers will not stock one, so you have to look. After having ours for 2 years, they are worth finding, as I think it is 10x better than the ¾t 6.0L which rides rough and drinks fuel like it was cheap......Our dealer had 2 on the lot a couple weeks ago, as the ranchers have discovered this truck and love it.

My bet is GM has done the same thing the Chrysler did with the Eco-Diesel. They put the cart before the horse and are having some issues getting their suppliers up and running. The day of ture R&D seems to be gone. This is evident by the number of recalls ALL the manufactures are facing right now. Ford just announced a recall for SUV's and trucks. Chrysler is recalling our SUV's to add a shield to protect the brake booster from corrosion. I was looking at these trucks in January. I was able to find a good number of them. I also found the max tow with the 5.3. I then decided that I was not going to sell my 2500HD. As for Don's comment, this was not the case. When GM announced the 6.2 and max tow, they indicated that it would be available in Q4 2013. They were available in Q4. Jimbee - Some dealers will work with you on a specific order. You can always ask a dealer if they will sell you a special-ordered vehicle at the GM Supplier and Friends price. If they will, you can ask a GM employee for a Friends price certificate.

You can negotiate on the special order. Just go to the dealer and build how you want it, and then start negotiating. Most likely you will get down to a certain price, and then you can get whatever rebates are available at the time of delivery. That is how it worked on the 3500 I just ordered.
