I carefully identified and bought only appliances that are rated for 1500 watts or less. Too protect my system.
For exmple the Oster Convection Counter Top Oven is rated for 1500 W but on high only draws 1165 watts. I use a Kiliwatt Meter to obtain actual data. Others on the TC Forum have been usuing them for years... I finally bought one when I went PVSolar... Wow... they exhibit about everything you would need when dealing with power use.
The follwing is the Kiliwatt Meter reading the maximum wattage when the oven is on Turbo.
Note: The way I have it set up here with the short extension cord is so that you can see the meter.
And when I moved the control knob to Broil (no convection fan or the bottom heating eliments are in use.
This is the number of Watts used on the Broil setting. We use the broil setting most of the time... we cook on foil lined pans that are sprayed with olive oil... after dinner, wad it up ad add to recycle waste. I leave the pizza stone in all of the time... it holds heat and makes cooking even.
Next: I use 12V Optima AGM batteries... I have been using them since 2003... with no loss of capacity. I never discharge below 50% as measured by my Trimetric meter.
Nope PJay, I don't move the PVSolar panels... I leave them flat. Our camper has extra capacity to make up the difference. Sucessful stealth camping depends on not attracting attention!
My inverter is a Samlex Model SSW-R1-12B, 1500 Watts. you can see it's remote controle on the right side of my range hood in a pictures above. It has an On/Off switch and power in power out data. again...
I like limiting the system to 1500W... The micro wave oven used 1480 watts... I'll continue to run the generator for the airconditioner or on very cloudy days.
Thanks again
What is the draw on your battery system to run the Oster? What is your battery system? I know you installed batteries under sink if I remmeber correctly. I know you have massive movable PVSolar panels. What inverter did you go with?
Your install is clean, neat and good use of available materials i.e. DUCT.
