Hi Bob,
I'll do a test as I do have a kill-a-watt meter.
base load during test 0.45 amps volts 119
I operated the Nuwave with a pot with one cup of water in the bottom
On the lowest possible setting (100 f)
amps varied between 6, 3, 0.45 and back to 6
volts varied between 114, 117, 119 and back to 114
On the highest possible setting
amps 10.85
volts 110

Anyone who is going to go electric may wish to consider an induction cooker. I have one from nuwave and I've not used the stove since. It allows heat control by 10 F increments. The best thing is that it heats the pan--so almost all the energy goes into cooking the food.

Any idea how much current draw those have when you are really cranking up the heat?
