Was really surprised to see the rear coils in the 2014 RAM 2500. And the payloads with the 6.4L are nearly twice that of most half-tons.
From what I'm reading here, the truck is still very stable when loaded, even with the coils? And it rides better than a 2500 with heavy leafs when unloaded too?
Never really wanted a 2500 but if the unloaded ride is better with the coils, I may change. Guess I should go for a test drive.
Don't get me wrong... it's still a 3/4 ton and the ride is much stiffer than a 1/2 ton. It's just better than a 3/4 ton with leaf springs. The main improvement is the handling and stability cornering. The leaf spring rear ends just feel like their rolling away from you and the coils make it feel like its stuck to the road. I notice a HUGE improvement towing as well as just daily driving.
