Picked up the new 2014 in February and this past weekend was the first outing. The Ford V10 is more than adequate for the motorhome as long as you can keep it between the lines. Steering is vague and it wonders all over the road. Not fun to drive! A number of problems also showed up. The right side marking light failed. The drain hose from the black water tank to the waste pump has holes in it due to a hose clamp rubbing on it. The hose clamp from the black water tank was not installed over the connection thus leaked. The "out side shower" is in a compartment under the slide out making it useless. (Thor stated that they put it there because campers did not want mud by their camper) The bottom of the shower was loose and not sealed. Looking under the camper, the steel framing that Thor installed over the Ford frame was not painted/undercoated and was very rusty. The upper driver side clamp that holds the motor cover could not be latched as the bottom of the dashboard interferes. The instrument panel is very hard to read (a Ford problem). No easy way to get up and in the front bunk with no net to prevent the kids from falling out. The cabinet location for the DVD player has, from front to rear, HDMI cable, 110 outlet and in the back, the antenna switch/amp, thus you can not see the little red light and you need to reach over the outlet to get to the amp. Last time I checked, the HDMI connection on a DVD played is in the back! No 12 volt outlet anywhere. Found about 5ft piece of wire stuffed behind the fresh water tank. The RV heater is under the bed and makes considerable noise. The fuse/converter box is also under the bed and it has a fan that makes some noise. A lot of wind/rattle noise going down the road with the little door on the right side of the steps being a problem. The fresh water pump is week and may need to be replaced, but CW can not get to it and the other issues till June.

Wow! Sorry to hear your report and that it has been such a bad experience. Hope CW gets it back in one piece. Guess that takes the Thor off the table for us! Thank you.

Kapow! Holy******Batman. That is exactly the unit we have been working with a salesman to buy at Motorhome Specialties in Alvarado TX. Thanks for the heads up and keep spreading the word. No way I'm gonna buy that POS now. Good luck going down the warranty repair road.

And that's why I love my Jayco. Called them Friday, took it in for some warranty work this morning. Said 7-10 days it will be ready to pick up. Richardson's RV and Jayco 5th Wheel - the only way we do business.

Really sorry to here of your problems but THOR is not noted as a first rate company. Really low end products.JMHO

holy moly! we were looking at a thor infinity. the exterior looked very well cared for and we wanted to see the interior. never did get access and eventually found something else. praying the "something else" will be okay and waiting for it to be detailed now. thanks for the comments--relieved we didn't get to see the inside!

Pretty similar to the list of problems I had with my 2013 ACE 27.1. I owned it for 3 months. Took a loss and traded it in on a new 2013 Winnebago Vista 27N. Not happy about loosing the money but very glad to be rid of the ACE.

The ACE had very poor handling, wandered all over the road even after weighing and adjusting tire pressure and an alignment and “cheap handling fix.” The fit and finish was poor, lots of rattles and bangs. Here’s a partial list of the problems I found after driving a few hundred miles.

Exterior: Upper clearance lights full of water. Molding pulled away by driver’s mirror, entry door, and wheel openings. Decals bubbled and pulled away along belt molding, both sides of coach. Rear license plate light didn’t work and was loose.

Mechanical: House battery cut out frequently, would not take full charge & drained fast.

Interior: Water leaked into left front on driver’s side wall when driving during and after rain, water dripped in from curtain rail, water came in around screws in lower part of fixed part of driver’s and passenger’s side windows. One of the pocket doors came off track and jammed blocking entry into bedroom, the rollers had ripped out of the door. Upper wall trim between pocket doors and hall came off. Shower wall was loose and where it met the pan had gaps in the caulking. Toilet was loose and rocked. There was a cut in vinyl flooring between entry door and kitchen.

I know this is hard to swallow but its best you do most of the small repairs yourself so you understand how it all works and you also get it done correct and faster.

This is very normal with all RV's new and used, fix the small stuff yourself and let the big expensive work go to warranty..

My used coach came with new tires (Chinese Dynatrac) and steering was vague at first. I was also a complete newbie to driving something that large. But as the tires wore in so did I. Steering is a non-issue now. Same for my SUV when I got new General tires (but the Michelins were great from the start). I suspect any new rig would be vague until the tires wear in.

If you use an electric heater (vs coach heater) it's much quieter but BE SURE to use a heavy duty 14 gauge extension cord (or plug in direct). Just because it's thick doesn't mean it's HD wire. My household (cheap) extension cord gets HOT at the socket and that's with the heater on 1/2 power! Don't let us read about you in the news.

Hello we are a new 29.2 owner too. We have had some problems as expected. Our main issue was the left headlight was burnt at the plug and had to replace complete unit. Dealer did that in a week which was not too bad. As to your problems, first do the CHF on the front, it will handle much better. Place Velcro felt on the windows top and bottom for the the rattle. Not sure why you need 12volt other than the 3 up front. Heater is loud but you are in a small box so that is expected. Get a radiant heater for silent heat. The water pump is loud and weird sounding at first but if it shuts off after running water it's ok too. The bed needs a ladder and a support for an adult so I am still working on that. Not sure what you DVD problem is since we have the same thing and no trouble? The outdoor shower is under the slide but we won't use that unless washing the dog or a disaster dumping the tanks. Yep, cheap paint job, a can of rust oleum is a good idea for undercarriage.

All in all I'm ok with things as I bought the cheapest new class a on the market. I'm a tinkerer so I don't sweat the details, I fix them.

As to June before a repairs appointment. I would protest that, the squeaky wheel gets the grease and there are many dealers able to do your repairs. Call Thor and tell them you want an appointment next week somewhere!

Sorry but reading this sounds like you would nitpick a Newell . Most of these are so minor to be considered nominal. The antenna light location? Come on. The steering and handling likely addressed with proper psi and sway bar adjustment. Did you drive it before you bought it? I have no such issues with my doghouse latch so I am thinking it needs nudged. Very normal. We love our 29.2. But then again with the exception of what I would consider an actual issue like the septic line, I just deal with adjustments. Most people do. The bunk has a built in step system, that's what the small piece of counter is behind the driver seat. An no one builds a gate or net for the front of the bunk. That's not an issue. Can't read the instrument panel ? Seriously ? That's the same panel on every new rv on the road. As far as road noise etc, well you bought an entry level coach. Again did you drive it before you bought it? Most of that likely due to improper psi . Weigh it and adjust accordingly. I have no qualms with the water pump. You will not get home pressure from an rv. The fan under the bed is the inverter and should only run hard if you are running a lot of 12v. That means it's working. Where would you like them to put the furnace. I would agree on one thing, the outdoor shower location is silly.
