The newer diesels are the ones that don't like short trips due to emissions plugging exhaust.
The Rams are the best of the 3 right now. I have a fleet of newer , '13 and up Pstokes , Few Dmaxes and fleet of '14 Rams all diesel, operated in the worst possible conditions for emissions. Arctic 30below weather, lots of idling, can't drive more than 5 miles, never loaded or towing, 35 mph speed limit.
Of the 6 Rams, 0 of them had emissions issues or had to force a regen in about 500 engine hours avg last fall. 1 case of frozen def in the filler hose to the tank.
Fords, every other day there was one plugged up sitting in a forced regen screamin 3000rpms parked at the bull rail.
Dmaxes never crapped out but always had an engine light on it seemed but they would regen enough on the short trips to keep going.
I would say ChryslerMasterTech would disagree with you.
I know I do... :W
