I too went from a gas to a diesel. 2012 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi CC 2 wd to a 2014 Ram 2500 CTD CC 4X4. I only tow about 6500 lbs and if I towed in a moderately flat area and with current trailer I'd still have the hemi. I tow twice a year to Boise, ID and the difference between towing with the two trucks is significant. The diesel is quieter (I didn't like the Nascar feel) and I find myself going faster with less shifting. The exhaust brake and turbo for the altitude are great and once having them it would be hard to go back. I average about 2 mpg better with the diesel. Diesel is about .45/gal higher here.
